The Planning Commission has been presented with a new proposal for a continuum of care Senior Housing development on 180+ acres west of Hickory Ridge Road and north of M-59.
Under amendments to the State of Michigan Planning Enabling Act, a developer may voluntarily limit the use of his land in order to craft a proposal that provides some certainty to the community as to what to expect.
Click here to view the proposal. An amendment to the original application (submitted May 13, 2010) is also available here. You may follow the progress of reviews at the Planning Commission's webpages under Government/Planning Commission/Projects under Review or click here.
The Planning Commission has scheduled a public hearing for Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the Highland Adult Activity Center (209 N. John Street) at 7:30 p.m. Your comments are welcome, and may be submitted in writing addressed to the Planning Commission at the Township Hall or via email at questions@highlandtwp.com.
If approved, the developer must enter a development agreement that limits the project to the conditions depicted on the approved site plan and in the correspondence.
