The Township also contracts with Richfield Management, L.L.C. for curbside pick-up of recyclable materials. You may place your recyclables in brown paper grocery bags, or inside a garbage can clearly labeled "RECYCLE" or "RECYCLABLES" on both sides and lid, and placed a short distance from your regular trash container.  You may also purchase a special, stackable recycling container for your use.
Your recyclable materials may be placed out each week with regular pick-up.

You may co-mingle the following materials:

- Plastic Bottles with a 1 or 2 on the bottom: Rinse containers and throw lids in trash.
  No cups, tubs, trays or motor oil containers, even if they have 1 or 2 on the bottom.
- Tin & aluminum cans: Rinse clean. No scrap metal.
- Newspaper: Everything that comes with the newspaper
- Magazines & phonebooks
- Boxboard-cereal and shoe boxes. Remove inner packaging and flatten.
- Corrugated cardboard: Cut into pieces no larger than 2 feet by 2 feet.

  No waxed cardboard, such as freezer boxes.
  Bundles no higher than 1 foot, or place in brown paper bags.

Livingston Recycling in Howell 517-548-4439 accepts glass.  Pontiac City Hall also recycles glass every Saturday from 8:00 a.m.-12 noon.

NO STYROFOAM/POLYSTYRENE  ACCEPTED. MATERIALS MUST BE LOOSE IN CONTAINERS OR BUNDLED-NOT IN PLASTIC BAGS.
