The Highland/Milford Transportation program is funded through SMART Dollars, Municipal Credits, and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, in-kind services from Highland Township, Milford Township and the Village of Milford, fund raising efforts and donations. This program allows older adults and adults with disabilities to remain independent, contributing, and functioning members of the community. Highland/Milford Transportation provides service to its residents age 55 and older and adult individuals with disabilities who cannot provide their own means of transportation. Transportation is provided for medical (non-emergency) appointments, hair appointments, shopping trips to grocery stores, pharmacies, nutrition sites, and senior centers. It also provides rides for individuals with disabilities to travel to and from work*.

 

Highland/Milford Transportation operates Monday thru Friday 9:00a.m. – 4:00p.m. Ride requests are made through the Highland/Milford Transportation dispatch office. The Local Service cost is $4.00 each way. Call 248-887-4979 to book a ride.

 

Local Service is provided Monday through Friday. Local is defined as Highland Township, Milford Township and the Village of Milford. Service deemed outside of the “local” service area is $8.00 each way. (Please contact the office in regards to the maximum radius outside of the Highland/Milford areas we travel.)

 

-          All riders must call for service, no automatic scheduling of riders.

-          Closed all legal holidays and weekends.

-          Closed when Huron Valley Schools are closed due to inclement weather.

-          Closed at the discretion of the coordinator (may be due to mechanical needs, ridership numbers or weather related concerns.)

-          To accommodate medical visits, schedule appointments from 10:00 a.m. and no later than 1:15p.m.

-          Request for next day service must be made by 11:45 a.m. the day before.
