Highland/Milford Senior Van Program
The senior transportation program is funded through SMART Dollars, Municipal Credits and grants. Highland Township, Milford Township and the Village of Milford jointly fund this program. The Director of the Highland Adult Activity Center administers this program. The Highland/Milford Senior Van Program provides transportation services to residents of the municipalities for adults' age 55 and older and other handicapped adults who can not provide their own mechanism of transportation. Transportation is provided for medical (non-emergency) appointments, shopping centers, professional offices, hair appointments, pharmacies, grocery stores, nutrition sites and senior centers. This transportation program allows older adults to remain independent, contributing, and functioning members of the community.
The Highland/Milford/Ride with Pride Program operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to
4:00 p.m. Ride requests are made through the Highland/Milford/RWP Transportation Program. Cost is $3.00 each way. Call 248-887-4979 to book a ride.
Local service is provided Monday through Friday. Local is defined as Highland Township, Milford Township, Village of Milford and Huron Valley Hospital in Commerce.
- All riders must request service, no automatic scheduling of riders.
- Closed all legal holidays and weekends.
- Closed when Huron Valley Schools are closed due to inclement weather.
- Closed at the discretion of the administrator (Highland Adult Activity Center
Director) due to mechanical needs, ridership numbers or weather related concerns.
-All local medical appointments scheduled no later than 2:00 p.m.
