The Treasurer's Office is responsible for collecting and investing all the account receivables due to the township. Tax revenues for Highland Township, the State of Michigan, Oakland County, Oakland Community College, Huron Valley Schools and various special assessments are also billed and collected here.

The Treasurer, by statute, is required to collect and take charge of all the funds that belong to the Township or funds which are required by law to be paid into the township treasury. The Treasurer is also to distribute and account for all moneys according to law or Township board decision. Highland Township has adopted an investment policy that is certified by the "Association of Public Treasurer's, United States and Canada". This investment policy is directed by Public Act 20 to keep your tax dollars in the safest investment vehicles on the market.
